Ministers Ross and Griffin congratulate Leinster on winning Pro14 final

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Shane Ross, TD, and the Minister with responsibility for Sport, Mr. Brendan Griffin, TD, tonight congratulated Leinster on winning the Guinness Pro14 final at Celtic Park, Glasgow.

Minister Ross said: “I am delighted to congratulate Leinster on a fantastic victory over Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness Pro14 final at Celtic Park this evening. There is no doubt that these were the two best teams in the Pro14 all season and it is a great achievement for Leo Cullen’s side to come out on top today in the Warriors’ home city. Today’s final was the first major rugby match to be held at the famous old ground and a fitting venue for Leinster to record a record breaking sixth victory in the tournament.”

Minister Griffin added: "This is a massive win for Leinster after a gruelling end to the season. The team has performed fantastically well all year and this victory tonight is a wonderful way to end the season.  I would like to congratulate Leo Cullen, his coaching and backroom staff and all the players on retaining their crown. ”
