The process of developing the National Aviation Policy for Ireland commenced with a conference in December 2012.  Following on from the conference an Issues Paper seeking submissions from interested parties was published by the Department in February 2013 and subsequently a total of 74 submissions were received.

A draft National Aviation Policy was published in May 2014 taking account of these submissions.  A further consultation period followed, during which more than 70 additional submissions were received.  The final Policy document was developed taking account of the views expressed during both consultation phases.
